Third Annual LGBT Older Adult Summit will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, at the MSU Detroit Campus, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is free of charge.

This year’s offerings include workshops on healthcare, sex for LGBT Older Adults and employment/volunteer opportunities, with additional workshops for professionals employed in the areas of healthcare and older adult services. Workshops will include topics like Enjoying Outrageously, Satisfying Mature Sex,” “Remaining Independent and Happy In Your Home,” and “Estate Planning in a Post DOMA World – “Let’s Hope”
Registration opens at 8:30, the program begins at 9:00 a.m. The event features Jay Kaplan as keynote speaker – the ACLU of Michigan’s LGBT Project Director.
Guests will be entertained by the musical talents of Don Nadel, a graduate of the Cleveland School of Music who has been playing piano since the age of three. Don will be providing music during registration/breakfast and at lunch.
Complimentary continental breakfast and lunch, including snacks throughout the day, will be provided.
The Third Annual LGBT Older Adult Summit is sponsored by the LGBT Older Adult Coalition, Between The Lines/PrideSource, Area Agency on Aging 1-B, Affirmations Senior Koffee Klatch, The Detroit Elder Project at KICK, the ACLU and The Gay Elders of Southeast Michigan/GESEM (a pre-curser to SAGE.)
