Introducing a new social support program called “Our Time in Detroit”.

Atlantic City article“Our Time” is a program initiative that will provide LGBT Older Adults in Detroit an opportunity to discuss and address issues specific to this population. This is a health and wellness campaign designed to educate and inform the LGBT older adult community on topics ranging from behavioral health to physical health issues. There are issues within Detroit’s LGBT older adult community that are not being adequately addressed specific to us regarding resources for information, education, social activities, and services specifically targeting our community as we “age in the D”. Even though we will be focusing our topics towards the older adult community, we welcome all that want to participate.

Meetings will be held 3rd Thursday of the month beginning in September. “Our Time In Detroit” first meeting will be held Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Hannan House & Foundation, 4750 Woodward Ave. (between Forest & Warren) from 5-7 p.m.
