Join us on Saturday, June 21, 2014, for “Living In The Spirit Of Now,” the 4th Annual LGBT Older Adult Summit. This year’s Summit will, again, be held at the MSU Detroit Center, 3408 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201. Registration is free of charge and will include complimentary breakfast and lunch.
This year’s offerings include workshops on sex for LGBT Older Adults, legal issues and protections, and telling our stories, with additional workshops for professionals employed in the areas of healthcare and older adult services. Session titles will include “Enjoying Outrageously, Satisfying Mature Sex,” “Remaining Independent and Happy In Your Home,” and “Estate Planning in a Post DOMA World.”
Registration opens with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., and the program begins at 9:00 a.m. The event features Walter Woods, AARP Foundation Vice President, Impact Program – Isolation, as keynote speaker.
Guests will be entertained by the musical talents of Don Nadel, a graduate of the Cleveland School of Music who has been playing piano since the age of three. Don will be providing music during registration/breakfast and at lunch.
